Execution of torturers from Bergen-Belsen / Auschwitz...

On December 13, 1945, 11 people were executed in the Hameln prison in Germany (including 3 women). They were sentenced to death for their criminal activities in German concentration camp Bergen-Belsen.
The sentence also included their activity in other German camps, such as Auschwitz, Natzweiler-Struthof or Ravensbrück.
Among those sentenced to death were:
• Josef Kramer - former commandant of the Natzweiler-Struthof, Auschwitz Birkenau and Bergen-Belsen camps;
• Irma Grese, "Beautiful Beast" - one of the most brutal female supervisors at Ravensbrück, Auschwitz and Bergen-Belsen;
• Elisabeth Volkenrath - a supervisor in the camps in Ravensbrück, Auschwitz and Bergen-Belsen;
• Johanna Bormann - a supervisor in the camps in Lichtenburg, Ravensbrück, Auschwitz and Bergen-Belsen.
In addition, the following people were executed: Fritz Klein, Peter Weing, Franz Hosler, Karl Franzioh, Ansgar Pichen, Franz Stöfel, Wilhelm Dörr. They were all hanged by an English executioner, Albert Pierrepoint.
