Death Camps Memorial Site
Project Death Camps Memorial Site (DCMS) is a website and regularly updated Facebook and Instagram on: Facebook and Instagram about German and Nazi concentration and extermination camps, as well as the activities of criminal organizations such as: SS, SD, Gestapo, Einsatzgruppen.
The DCMS project is run by an enthusiast of history, photography, and travel. All the photos (except archival ones) and the prepared texts have been created by me and are based on 17 years of expanding knowledge by studying: historical sources, archives and museum collections (United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, Yad Vashem, Polish Institute of National Remembrance), books, scientific publications, testimonies and accounts of witnesses, former prisoners and torturers, as well as numerous consultations with museum staff and guides.
The purpose of DCMS is to spread knowledge related to the events that took place during World War II, including topics such as: genocide, the Holocaust, and crimes against humanity. The websites are written in the following languages: Polish and English, and have an international reach thanks to the use of the Internet, social media services, streaming platforms...
Author
My name is Paweł Krupiński and I am passionate about the history of World War II, in particular the topics of death camps, extermination, the Holocaust, Nazi crimes, and crimes against humanity. I often travel to former German and Nazi concentration and extermination camps as well as other places related to genocide and martyrdom.
I became interested in the subject 17 years ago and since then I have visited various concentration and extermination camps over 400 times, including Auschwitz, Auschwitz Birkenau, Treblinka, Sobibór, Bełżec, Majdanek, Chełmno on the Ner, Stutthof, Gross-Rosen, Plaszow, Pustków, Theresienstadt, Bergen-Belsen, Buchenwald, Flossenbürg, Fort VII Posen, Fort IX Kaunas, Mały Trościeniec, Mauthausen-Gusen, Mittelbau-Dora, Natzweiler-Struthof, Neuengamme, Niederhagen-Wewelsburg, Ravensbrück, Soldau, Sachsenhausen; Einsatzgruppen mass murder sites, including Kaunas, Ponary, Babi Yar, Riga and other important places Wannsee, the Anthropoid operation site, Wolf's Lair, former ghettos, deportation sites...
I immortalize all my travels in photographs, the collection of which consists of several thousand photos. I also constantly deepen my knowledge through historical consultations, hundreds of read books, watched documentaries and historical films about the Holocaust, camps, the Third Reich, the German Empire and the Weimar Republic (starting from the Thule company 1918 to 1945), and then the fate of post-war Nazi criminals and the aftermath history of World War II.
I am not a historian, photographer or guide! I am an IT specialist by education (software, web applications, databases) and I also deal with this matter professionally. I live in Malmo, Sweden but have lived most of my life about 30 minutes from the Auschwitz Museum. Privately, I am also an avid angler and musician, but the passion that I devote the most time to is history.
Website / social media / multimedia
I "transfer" my knowledge to the articles which I write based on 17 years of expanding knowledge by studying such materials as: historical sources, archives and museum collections, the Institute of National Remembrance materials, testimonies of witnesses and consultations with museum staff and guides. The articles are also translated into English by a MA in Translation Studies, and then placed in over 100 Polish and English Facebook groups. The articles also contain original: photos, films, drone recordings, animations, maps, etc. From time to time, I also organize competitions in which the prizes are books about the camps, funded by the publishing houses with which I cooperate. I also plan to translate the page into other foreign languages.
